Performance, Stability and Functionality come thru in the Optex CD5 Series Laser Displacement Sensor

from the Automation Group at Cross

You can't go wrong with the Optex CD5 Series if you're looking for performance, stability and functionality in a Laser Displacement Sensor.  With high resolution and linearity, wide and narrow beam models, and multi-function controller, PC software or standalone operation, this unit delivers when high accuracy matters.

Examples:

Tension Control - displacement laser sensors maintain proper tension during extrusion by providing accurate distance feedback for all targets, even black rubber.

Transparent Thickness Detection - specular types can accurately detect the thickness of transparent objects such as plastic boggle preforms

High Precision - 'LI CCD' sensor technology verifies precise component placement

Complete selection of sensor heads available
  • six different measurement ranges
  • two different types of sensing heads
  • wide beam for use with rough surfaces or narrow beam for use with small targets or smooth surfaces
  • specular reflection version available which can accurately measure shiny surfaces or measure thickness of transparent glass

Up to three laser heads can be connected to the controller.  Any combo of sensing heads (type and/or sensing distance) can be used together.  Each head can measure separately or be used in the calculation funtion for specific applications.

Easy Setup and Operation
The Multi-function controller has a large LCD display and 10 key input panel.  Setup and monitoring is quick and easy.  The reflected light waveform can be displayed on the controller.

Independent Operation
Sensor heads can operate independently of the controller via RS422 serial communications allowing digital measurement data to be interfaced directly to a PLC or PC.
