Meet Bob Basic - ifm efector's New Control System for Mobile Applications

from the Fluid Power Group at Cross

Meet Bob Basic - simply Connect - Activate - Operate

ifm efector has recently released its new control system for mobile applications - the Ecomat Mobile Basic Line - a 3 piece modular control system call Bob Basic.  Talk about easy to wire and simple to install, plus it reduces space needed for visualization on the dash.  The Basic Line control platform includes 3 compact units - a controller, relay and display - all combining to control the automation of mobile vehicles.

Ecomat Basic Series

  • Compact Controller with 32 bit processing power and 2 CAN-bus ports - very compact!  The mini controller replaces conventional relay logic and complex process controllers, plus the electronics are integrated into a compact, plastic housing that provides connections for I/O, communication & programming.  And a status LED indicates the current operating status.
Logical connection using standard AMP connection on the front of the unit eliminates additional terminal strips.  Integraged CAN interface allows for a direct connection to SAE J1939 network.  Wide operating voltage range: 8...32 VDC.  32 bit processor and choice of 20 or 24 configurable I/O.  Up to 12 PWM outputs, 4 resisitvie inputs, 4 analog inputs, 4 digital outputs.
  •  Basic Relay - simplifies wiring and battery connection and eliminates external terminals. The easily expandable relay streamlines wiring and becomes a decentralized "control room" for mobile apps.  Perfect for areas with limited mounting space because it is compact

What a convenient design for relay replacement, wiring consolidation and fusing vehicle controls.  Providing a much neater appearance in tight spaces on smaller vehicles.  Power rail allows quick connection of up to 10 fuses (4 power supply / 6 relays).  Standard AMP connection for ISO relays and logic relays allowing simple interconnection.
  • Basic Display - full color that can replace multiple gauges on a vehicle dashboard.  High res color replaces conventional analog displays & traditional gauges on a dashboard....color depth up to 256 colors and resolution of 320 x 240 pixels.
IP67, single M12 connection for power and CAN, bright high resolution 2.8" color display, mount in dashboard or directly on controller using cover plate and standard 52mm mounting nut.  Simplify user interface with 4 programmable softkeys, directional pad and OK button.  Can display both application data and J1939 from the vehicle powertrain.

With ifm's 32-bit Extended Controller, You Can Simplify Complex Functions in Mobile Applications

from the Fluid Power Group at Cross

With 32 multi-functional inputs, 32 multi-functional outputs, 16 digital outputs, and 4 independently configurable CAN interfaces, ifm's 32-bit Extended Controller simplifies application integration with existing CAN based network devices. Quick and flexible interconnection and interoperability with other CANopen devices is possible with built-in CANopen protocol.

With this Extended Controller, automate complex functions in mobile applications with 80 inputs / outputs.  Each input can be confined as frequency, digital or analog with its diagnostic functions.  The analog inputs enable current and voltage measurement; the inputs support the evaluation of negative and positive digital input signals.  The configurable digital or PWM outputs offer optional current control and diagnostic capabilities.

Electronics are packaged in a compact, metal housing in ifm's 32-bit Extended Controller.
Operating voltage of 10...32 VDC with current consumption <320mA

All control functions are easily integrated, programming to the standard IEC61131-3.  And all interfaces can be reconfigured to SAE J1939 protocol for communication with diesel engines and powertrains.  Also, should you need to operate in extreme conditions, rely on its monitoring and protection functionality.
