Do you need to visualize performance of your mobile equipment?  Consider the graphic display unit - the ifm PDM 360 to do just that.  It is designed to replace multiple gauges and indicator lamps commonly found on the dash in a vehicle cabin.  The PDM 360 Compact has graphic capabilities for viewing and exchanging data and its programmable display is designed for controlling, parameter setting and the vehicle operation.

The PDM 360 HMI features a 3.8" diagonal display screen, three illuminated keys, plus an encoder that includes a pushbutton to aid navigation.  The small die cast zinc housing can be surface mounted using a standard ram mount system or conventionally mounted in a panel.  It is simple to attach and install using standard M12 cables for the electrical connections.  Plus, for mounting versatility, models are available in either vertical or horizontal formats.  The display can be mounted inside the cab or on the exterior of the vehicle.

The PDM 360 Compact is ideally suited for setting control parameters and options, displaying operating status of the equipment, as well as important system messages & diagnostic information.   It also allows quick troubleshooting and fault location, providing an alarm when a problem occurs.

With its powerful 32 bit controller, built-in CAN interface, and flexible CoDeSys programming environment, the HMI can be used in almost all mobile apps.  Programming is performed using the same software package as ifm's control product platform and therefore any of the standard IEC 61131-3 languages are available, including:

• ladder diagram
• structured text
• instruction list
• function block diagram
• continuous function chart
• sequential function chart

This enables you to create a clear and concise graphic representation of the vehicle app that is structured and easy to understand.  Graphic elements are easy to create and animate using the integrated visualization plus a simulation mode can make testing a program possible without the need for hardware.

A very flexible and capable unit - with additional Ethernet + RS 232 interfaces, as well as optional inputs, outputs and real time clock from a platform.  Thu unit operates over a wide voltage range (10-32 VDC) and is designed for use betweek -20 degrees C and +70 degrees C.
